Rain Carnation – “Liar”

//

“Liar” sees a continuation of Rain Carnation‘s engrossing dark sound, after first catching our ears with “Fearless” in July.

Described by the San Diego-based artist as a “Gothic saga about lies we hide,” “Liar” entrances quickly with glistening synth droplets and murky backing guitars. A commanding vocal presence, yearning and dreamy in tone, calls out with memorable glee during the chorus: “I think you’re a liar.” The dreamy guitar distortion and dreamy synth integration converge for a gorgeously nostalgic success, especially during the mid-point bridge and exhilarating conclusion.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2022’ Spotify playlist.
