Gore Gloss – “Swoon”

/

The darkly intoxicating “Swoon” builds with a chilling, murky entrancement. Canadian artist Gore Gloss weaves ghostly vocal effects and synth-laden eruptions amidst lyrics that explore a sense of wasteful materialism — “Bugattis crashing into private jets, Ferraris driven into rivers, and chateaus decorated with decaying hunting trophies.”

Per the artist: “‘Swoon’ is a story of material substance faltering in the face of spiritual longing.”

“It’s too late, we’re all hypnotized,” the vocals lead into an effect-laden vocal ardency, exuding a Burial-esque decent. Bolstered by glistening flashes of synths and the standout vocal variation, “Swoon” is a thorough success full of atmospheric mystique and beautiful darkness.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2022’ Spotify playlist.
