Los Angeles-based project Bubble Tea and Cigarettes craft a dreamy spell with “Happiness,” evoking a state of bliss. Following up this year’s stellar album There’s Nothing But Pleasure, “Happiness” stirs with its serene vocal entrancement, gentle synths, and tranquil acoustics. A prancing, dream-like caressing of keys around 01:30 makes for an especially magnetic composure amidst Kat’s vocals.
The duo first caught our ears with the track “5AM Empanada with You” in 2020. Kat’s vocals and Andi’s songwriting once again combine for something special here.
