Sabine Colleen – “Three Words”

/

Haunting folk single “Three Words” comes via singer/songwriter Sabine Colleen, who took inspiration from Selkie folklore and the myth of Echo and Narcissus.

Written while attending a songwriting workshop taught by Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes), “Three Words” meshes passionate vocal versatility with atmospheric fingerstyle guitar and analog tape. Colleen’s vocal power is especially apparent past the three-minute mark, letting out a chilling call that coincides gorgeously with stirring guitar trickles. “Three Words” plays with a ghostly, captivating temptation throughout.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2022’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.
