Fruits! – “A Snail in the Wind”

//

A mysteriously atmospheric success, “A Snail in the Wind” compels with its moody guitar crawls and sporadic synth injections. Enigmatic vocals add further to the ample mystique. The track comes via Fruits!, the project of Northern California artist Isaac Brown, whose debut album (also titled Fruits) emphasizes classic guitar tones, analog synths, and darkly memorable soundscapes.

Vocals caution to “look up,” amidst the haunting guitar tones, with steady percussive pit-pattering and subtle bass assembling gently. A vintage synth-laden flash continues the psych-friendly spell, with haunting synth work rounding the two-minute work as well, with a certain nighttime chill. “A Snail in the Wind” — and the Fruits album in general — intoxicates with an inventively scenic pop sound.
