Janna Pelle – “Answers”

Another highlight from Janna Pelle‘s new album ECHOLOCATION, “Answers” finds the New York-based artist pursuing a dance-friendly punchiness with colorful psych-friendly synth textures. The track is further indication of Pelle’s eclectic songwriting throughout the album, spanning from the hypnotic piano-laden pop of “Ever” to the self-titled track’s strong level of atmospheric intimacy.

“Answers” builds with a bouncy perkiness, with synth flickers and steady electronic rhythms leading into more caressing synths alongside the vocals, asking “what do you want from me?” The track takes off after the one-minute mark, with an effervescent synth drop launching into spacey heights. The “looking for answers,” yearning plays invitingly to bubbly synth interweaving rounding the two-minute turn. Another glistening synth-fronted pulse envelops during the satiating finale, marking another success on ECHOLOCATION.
