Ballona Ryder – “Peace Offering”

/

A caressingly melodic debut single from Ballona Ryder, “Peace Offering” casts an inviting spell with its soulful vocal mellowness and tender guitar tones. Written in home studios around Los Angeles, “Peace Offering” is described by the artist as “a song about learning to love both yourself and others; even in moments where we feel like it’s impossible.”

“It is the soundtrack to the sunset bike rides I would take around my home on Ballona Creek,” the artist adds. Fittingly, the hazy guitar twangs and lightly shimmering synth underlying make for a fitting sunset accompaniment. “I don’t pretend to know what makes us kind of blue,” the vocals admit, later asking “does it give you peace of mind to know you’re not alone?” The lyrics play with relatable, heartfelt qualities amidst a fluttering, melodic production that never lets go.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2023’ Spotify playlist.
