Emery Pulse – “Heart Fulfilled”

/

A starry-eyed pop production from Emery Pulse, “Heart Fulfilled” embraces ’80s nostalgia in its bursting synth tones and graceful vocal delivery, exuding a sense of wonderment. “As a fan of 80’s pop, I love bringing a retro flare to new music,” the Marco Island, FL-based artist explains. “‘Heart Fulfilled’ incorporates a late 80’s soft rock feel into the present. Staying on brand, the lyrics reminiscence on what used to be and wonders about the now. Could you still be the man you were once more?” — the latter line referencing a stellar bridge in the second half.

Also featured last year with the single “Gift Box,” Emery Pulse continues delivering a magnetic pop sound that deftly balances atmosphere, emotion, and hookiness. “Heart Fulfilled” finds solace in its retrospective vocal charm and perky synth-forward pull, ranging from underlying arp movements to glistening leads. “How quickly it flew by,” the vocals reflect into the glistening chorus, reflecting on drifting away and relationship fulfillment, while wondering “you must be married by now.” A wistful look at the past is firmly conveyed within aptly memorable production soaked in nostalgia.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2023’ Spotify playlist.
