Easton – “Can’t Help But Check My Phone”

//

A lulling atmospheric success from Los Angeles-based artist Easton, “Can’t Help But Check My Phone” melds crooner-minded nostalgia with hazy guitar jangles, conjuring a sound fondly reminiscent of King Krule.

The title-touting hook speaks directly in addressing a societal obsession with screens and instant correspondence, bolstered thereafter by a synth-laden dreaminess that admits a want to “fall into your bedsheets, wrapped up in these daydreams.” The track enamors with its woozy soundscape and tender vocal engrossment throughout.

Easton is also well-known for his work as a fashion photographer. Check out his impressive work on Instagram.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
