S. Vestergaard – “The Slow Escape”

/

An instrumental rock showing with spacey and subdued synth integration, “The Slow Escape” is a gently absorbing track from Danish artist and multi-instrumentalist S. Vestergaard. “The Slow Escape” represents the first single from his forthcoming second album, Nonconformism, out later this year.

The atmospheric work compels with its ghostly, atmospheric tones throughout, though is lifted off by twinkling keys and an ethereal synth underlying. From there, a shimmering textural component surrounds the reflective guitar construction, proving thoroughly hypnotic with a western-y, whistling component and an intriguingly cinematic disposition.

Out later this year, the album is described as “created around a dogma that everything should be recorded live and presented as raw as possible. Noise has been an important part of the design of the expression and throughout the album you find yourself in a soundscape that contains the noise from everyday life.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
