Jack Byron – “My Technicolor Serenade”

//

Chicago native and Nashville-based artist Jack Byron enamors with the brightly infectious “My Technicolor Serenade,” whose brassy infusions, glowing organs, and anthemic vocal pushes combine for a vibrant appeal.

Succeeding in embracing “the polarity of life, in a luxurious way if possible,” “My Technicolor Serenade” echoes a sort of nostalgic Brit-pop whimsy in its brassy rise and “every day’s a holiday,” vocal ascent, conjuring shades of Blur’s Parklife era. The initial piano-fronted perkiness and “what a hell of a year,” remarking escalates with seamless charm into these rousing, replay-enticing sections. “My Technicolor Serenade” consumes with brightly enthusiastic qualities throughout.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.
