J’Moris – “Summa This”

The new double-single from Hillsboro, Texas-based artist J’Moris, “Summa This” and “Summertime Love” further emphasizes the artist’s confident, hook-minded production — excelling on previous singles like “Jump New” and “Jelly.”

Clanging keys and exotic woodwind hints show stellar mystique as “Summa This” starts to unfold. The central hook shows well with its responsive multiple vocal layers, followed by a fluid vocal pace in the catching verses. “Gimme summa this,” the vocals let out, wittily meshing with the summer references. Deepened vocal effects mesh with the intriguing backing instrumentation for a satiating close.

“Summertime Love” struts a more soulful, patient build. The mellow late-night synth tones and lethargic vocal adoration concoct a hypnotic initial flow, traversing into J’Moris’ perkier lead past the first minute. The title-touting hook immerses with a nocturnal, seductive atmosphere and induces further replays — a common trait from J’Moris on this double single and tracks preceding in years past.
