Mylder – “And My Body”

//

Lulling acoustics and emotive vocal resonance compel on “And My Body,” a recent track from Danish artist Mylder. Lyrics resonate in their coming to terms with a “a flawed world,” accepting tumult to the degree of capability to overcome and “feel less powerless.” The title-touting refrain proves haunting amidst the subtly illuminated backing glow, as the delicate guitar layers converge with the artist’s serene vocal elegance. “And My Body” is a moving, sincere success.

The artist expands upon the track’s creative inspiration:

“And My Body” was a consequence of a violent experience I had. I have experienced hate combined with violence where my sexuality was involved, and I am not a person who seeks conflict often. This song was an attempt to write a song which could help me channel my anger away from the tension that was created from this experience. To make lyrics that play with my worldview; to try to accept a flawed world where things like this happens. It makes me feel less powerless.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.
