Cold Equations – “Eraser”

/

Nashville-based band Cold Equations strut an evolving rock appeal on the track “Eraser,” their second single this year. Thematically approaching the topic of “fading away in the eyes of a lover,” “Eraser” channels an accessible rock sound that grows from understated guitars into an anthemic, summer-friendly rock sound.

Twangy guitar movements leads into muted guitar strums and a jangly re-emergence, as the laid-back vocals escalate with steady allure. Shimmering acoustics lend a catching element as the vocals let out “I was never here. Eraser.” The production compels with its cohesive growth from contemplative, jangly form into a vibrant hook, centered around the “never here,” refrain. A swell of guitar distortion envelops approaching the third minute, re-appearing during the stellar conclusion. “Eraser” is a sturdy rock success from Cold Equations.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.
