Dawn Park – “Crown”

/

NYC-based band Dawn Park comprises two childhood friends taking inspiration from ’80s and early ’00s rock, exuding the latter’s peppy infectiousness in particular on new single “Crown.”

Releasing ahead of an upcoming EP, “Crown” swells from suave vocals and fluid guitar jangles into a warming pulses of guitar distortion. Layered vocals deliver an anthemic spirit here, concluding “don’t leave me hanging in my home.” Tender, subdued guitar tones diversify enjoyably prior to a final energetic push. “Crown” is an exciting showing from Dawn Park.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
