MOLTENO – “Stars”

//

Dreamy pop and atmospheric trip-hop inspirations propel the magnetic new single “Stars,” from London-based artist MOLTENO. Themes resonate in embracing positivity and hope in the midst of tumult; this perseverance is touching set alongside lyrical backdrops of the universe’s vastness and dreamy textural charms.

The heady percussion and gentle bass conjure a trip-hop feeling initially. Illuminated keys and heartfelt vocals cast a more dream-pop focus, particularly with lyrical references to “the edge of the night,” and the open space above us. “Can you see the stars shine?” the vocals escalate alongside twinkling keys. A hazy organ envelopment continues. The orchestral-like chill during this “stars shine,” refrain plays with particular engrossment, as does the ghostly textural murmuring rounding the two-minute mark.

“Stars” represents the second single from MOLTENO’s Element 2, which is “one of four EPs that celebrate the elements and the way nature connects us.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
