Binding Spell – “Euphoria”

/

“Euphoria” achieves the sort of bliss referenced in its title, swelling into a lushly anthemic refrain with effervescent backing of guitars and keys. The track comes via Binding Spell, a project led by D.C.-based songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Roger Poulin.

Kickstarted by dreamy vocal sighs and a whirring guitar-led soundscape, “Euphoria” compels with a textured and melodic throwback rock sound inspired by the likes of Slowdive and New Order. The steady guitar slabs and lush vocals hypnotize in the verses, escalating into the aforementioned title-bearing soaring, emerging just past the one-minute turn. “Euphoria” is a triumphant, bright rock success from Binding Spell.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2023’ Spotify playlist.
