Cashier – “Miracle (Without U)”

The sophomore single from Louisiana-based rockers Cashier, “Miracle (Without U)” channels a heady ’90s alt-rock spirit with its invigorating vocal confidence and evolving guitar prowess, swelling from twangy understatements into an anthemic rock confessional.

The “high above me,” eruption proves wholly satiating, particularly upon its death-fearing sentiments: “I’m afraid to die without you,” is delivered amidst wailing guitar intensity, falling seamlessly back into moody verses’ twangs — aesthetically reminiscent of Snail Mail’s throwback, no-frills rock spiritedness and knack for dynamic hooks.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
