Jupiter 2 – “Tell Me Sooner”

/

“Tell Me Sooner” is a dreamy stunner from Jupiter 2, the North Carolina-based collaboration of multi-instrumentalists Nick Cirone and Ian Campbell. Spacey synth touches, twangy guitars, and caressing vocals intertwine for a gorgeous production, capturing the act’s knack for starry-eyed soundscapes and shrewd structural shifts — reminding aesthetically of Wild Nothing in its dream-pop and shoegaze embrace.

Hazy guitar pulses and a spacey, soaring effect ease into lush vocals, mesmerizing with hypnotic engrossment from the get-go. The one-minute turn unveils a striking, replay-inducing haze; an elongated vocal yearning builds into the title-touting suaveness. Heady guitar tones punctuate this standout sequence, which falls seamlessly back into the moody verses. “Tell Me Sooner” is a fantastic showing from Jupiter 2.

The track comes via the Chapel Hill-based duo’s new album, Cursory Glow:
