Small Victory – “Afraid of Change”

/

Nashville-based duo Small Victory showcase a memorable rock sound on “Afraid of Change,” whose gripping production spans from synth-touched atmospherics into stomping rock raucousness as the title-touting affirmation takes hold. “Afraid of Change” was recorded at Polychrome Ranch with Jared Corder (*repeat repeat), and represents the duo’s studio debut.

A breezy lushness enamors past the first minute, with jangling guitars leading into the “you came undressed,” reminiscing. The subsequent “I’m afraid of change,” vocal ferocity approaching the two-minute turn plays with invigorating appeal, emerging into a murky intrigue that closes the track off with satiating endurance.
