Easton – “END TIMES”

/

In the face of an impending apocalypse, why not hit the beach instead of worrying? It’s out of your control, after all. “END TIMES” — the latest single from Los Angeles-based artist EASTON — infuses that ideology within a heady alt-rock nostalgia, meshing suave vocal stylings with warming guitar distortion. Recollecting good times at the beach with friends, even as a loom apocalyptic cloud hovers over, is reinforced with melodic charm throughout.

“Picture this, you’re stuck on the freeway,” Easton lets out at one point, conveying perhaps the worst scenario for learning of the “end times.” The musician, photographer, and visual artist excels with a fun, hooky charisma throughout this gem — following up the dreamier single “Can’t Help But Check My Phone.” We’re excited for whatever’s next, imminent apocalypse or not.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.
