Fauves – “Listening To Nothing”

/

Balancing an eerily dreamy soundscape with pop immediacy, “Listening To Nothing” is a track from Glasgow-based band Fauves, and their new album Favourite Shade. Spacey synths build into a spirited bass-ready bounce and hazy guitar twangs; all elements converge with cohesive immersion into the suavely melodic vocals.

This initial psych-pop splendor traverses to a quainter bridge, favoring guitar and bass, and into a captivating chorus — capped off by a synergy of frolicking woodwinds and spacey synth re-emergence. “Listening To Nothing” is a stylish, hooky success from the act, whose new album satiates with an abundance of melodic and atmospheric creativity.
