Infinitefreefall – “Being the Heretic”

/

As the autumnal weather begins to take hold, the moody post-punk and dream-pop synergy within “Being the Heretic” makes for a delightfully apt listen. The stellar track comes via Infinitefreefall, a project based in Charleston, South Carolina. “I won’t wait another day,” the morose vocals let out amidst a translucent, nocturnal-friendly synth underlying and dark guitar swells.

A more triumphant, wordless expanse approaches the three-minute turn with compelling immersion, fully embracing the riveting soundscape bridging lush ’80s nostalgia and clamoring rock-guitar pulses. “Being the Heretic” is a delectably moody showcase in quality songwriting and stylish post-punk/dream-pop convergence from Infinitefreefall.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.
