Laura Galindo – “Maybe In Time”

/

“Maybe In Time” is a dreamy folk success from Brooklyn-based artist Laura Galindo. Serene guitar strums and subtle synths lead into contemplative vocals and rhythmic underlying. “Seems like you’ve got your work cut out,” Galindo sings. “And I’m not inclined to wait around.”

The lyrics resonate in conveying a sort of in-between, as one contemplates the state of a complex relationship — admitting upon an uptick in vocal emotion that “I find that I just can’t hate you and we have been cruel / I’m frustrated and I frustrate you.” The concluding title-touting refrain sends chills amidst soaring instrumentation and a concluding acoustical shimmer.

Galindo describes the single as “about examining the wound, only to find traces of love & hope where pain should be. I wrote a lot of it in my head while biking, I think that shows.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.
