Ian the Idiot – “Coffin”

/

Traversing enjoyably from lofty ambitions to a coffin-set eventuality, “Coffin” is the new single from Ian the Idiot, an artist from Los Angeles. Twangy guitars and underlying acoustics conjure a debonair quality, set alongside lyrics “about the meaninglessness of ambition.”

References to childhood ambitions and aspirations of fame resonate into the “I settle down in my coffin,” refrain, enamoring alongside twinkling keys and the multi-vocal layering. Richard Feder adds a fantastic saxophone solo at the track’s conclusion, casting a moody spell into the satiating conclusion.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.
