Jesse Judies – “Colors of Youth”

/

Sydney-based artist Jesse Judies delivers a laid-back pop enamoring new single “Colors of Youth.” Smooth guitars and a spacey synth touch drive into a serene vocal charm from Jessie Judies, the moniker of artist Nick Bray, who recently made the move from San Francisco to Australia. The track precedes the upcoming 3-song EP of the same name, which previews the forthcoming full-length Coup De Foudre.

Hazy guitar twangs and a warming bass line excel seamlessly into the sporadic synth effects. The multi-layered vocal calmness ascends into a perkier confidence during the “31 days I’m leaving this tomb,” declaration, with the “is it blue, is it green?” traverses into the “feels like a dream,” remarking feeling representative of one’s youth flashing before their eyes, in all shapes and colors.

A bass-heavy propulsion engages approaching the three-minute turn, pairing with an airy vocal response into more fast-paced verses. “Colors of Youth” is a standout serene pop showing from Jesse Judies, full of memorable moments and a crisply resonating production.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.
