Luke Tangerine – “Midlife Crisis.Again”

/

Glistening electro-pop and new-wave rock charisma mesh enjoyably on “Midlife Crisis.Again,” a track out today from Frankfurt-based artist Luke Tangerine. The release represents the first single from upcoming album Abandoned Cyberworld, out in 2024. Evidenced by “Midlife Crisis.Again,” the album explores ’80s nostalgia with its charmingly melodic production and synth-driven range, capturing both lush and ardent soundscapes.

Clanging bass and sonorous synths appear immediately, exuding a calmly captivating composure into an expanse just prior to the one-minute turn. Here, twinkling keys and a distorted undercurrent add to the lovely mix, compelling with a fuller-formed atmospheric immersion. The final minute continues the effervescent qualities, as twinkling keys, lingering synths, and nostalgic bass bumping make for an enchantingly melodic appeal. Mark this up as another thorough success from Luke Tangerine, who impressed earlier this year with the single “Interstellar Radio.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
