SIR-VERE – “The Crazies”

/

“The Crazies” is a heady, grooving slice of art-rock from SIR-VERE, a band from Milton Keynes, UK. The single represents their first release on a new label, Worldsound// Virgin Music Group, who is also reissuing their Lovescope album this coming January. “The Crazies” is among its many highlights, exploring today’s tumultuous times and the “dog eat dog world” world we inhabit.

Stutter-y static and suave guitar tones develop into a brisk percussive accompaniment, immersing with a psych-friendly engrossment as a spoken-word vocal entrancement follows. The “dog eat dog world,” societal commentaries prove stirring, indulging into a conclusion that relishes in dancing with “the crazies.” The post-punk bass pulse, trip-hop percussive elements, and poignant lyrical commentary combine for a track that rouses in its hypnotic, thumping production and celebration of individuality in trying times.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
