Zoya Zafar – “Tunnel Vision”

//

The caressingly melodic “Tunnel Vision” is a recent single from Zoya Zafar, a self-taught musician and singer born in Pakistan and raised in Orlando, Florida. Previously featured artist Max Helgemo co-wrote and produced the lush success, which is the first single from Zafar’s upcoming album, Some Songs.

“We don’t believe in paradise,” the vocals admit as quaint acoustics linger, escalating thereafter into jangly guitars and a title-touting vocal sequence. “We ran in circles, you saw me cry,” Zafar sings as mellow keys coincide with the guitar jangles and serene percussion. Depictions of starlight and nocturnal contemplation prove fitting, and the multi-vocal layering at mid-point is wholly resonating. “Tunnel Vision” is a delectably dreamy showing from Zoya Zafar.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.
