Jonny Westwood – “Together Forever”

/

A recent single from Melbourne-based artist and producer Jonny Westwood, “Together Forever” presents a moody pop immersion with emotive vocals, piano-laden momentum, and culminating string flourishes. “I wrote ‘Together Forever’ to capture the mix of hope and fear that new love can bring,” Westwood explains. The track represents the first single from the artist’s upcoming EP.

“I crave the warmth of your touch,” the vocals admit into nocturnal piano pulses, traversing to the “you’re the only that drives me wild,” hook — complemented by a melancholic string-laden undercurrent. The yearning for embrace is evident lyrically, poignantly capturing a sense of isolation and mourning, with past tenses — “when you were in my arms,” — adding to the heartrending emotion. The range from building-up balladry into the expressive chorus plays with seamless vigor. “Together Forever” is an emotional pop success from Jonny Westwood.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2023’ Spotify playlist.
