Vero Strange – “That’s Just Speed”

//

Brooklyn-based artist Dan Fisher fronts the project Vero Strange, whose new single “That’s Just Speed” touts a charismatic ’60s rock inspiration in its infusion of flourishing strings, infectious vocal harmonies, and suave guitar stylings. Debonair vocals and a funky bass line drive into a contagious chorus, marked by the string-laden infusions and multi-layered vocal enthusiasm.

“Can’t find my pupils, how’d you do that?” and other playful lines mingle aptly, culminating in a title-touting resonance with shades of early ELO in the vocal/strings correspondences. “That’s Just Speed” is a throwback delight from Vero Strange.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2023’ Spotify playlist.
