The Derevolutions – “The Dreamer”

/

Deftly incorporating over a hundred samples within its infused psych-pop sound, “The Dreamer” is the latest from The Derevolutions. The duo manage to proudly strut an experimental spirit without abandoning a hooky, melodic charisma. Excitable, wordless vocal samples traverse enjoyably alongside guitar swipes into the “we’re the children of earth,” proclamation, with the schoolyard-set sampling exuding a ’70s spirit into the descending “down and down,” intrigue.

A myriad of quality moments are prevalent throughout its 7+ minutes, traversing across jubilant vocal samples, hip-hop rhythmic pursuits, and soulful escalations. The “walking down the street,” final minute spells out the project’s name with passionate declaration, capping off this blast of a listening experience from The Derevolutions.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
