Benny Fisher – “Love Come Back”

/

A chillingly gorgeous dreamy folk mystique shows on “Love Come Back,” a new single from Benny Fisher. Hazy acoustics and expressively sporadic flute adornments complement Fisher’s ghostly vocal presence, compelling especially during the call-and-response title-touting hook. Colin Macdonald’s soulful harmonizing makes for a fantastic addition. The gripping sequence is elevated further in mood by playful keyboards; the entire mix struts a timeless-feeling entrancement, melding vintage psych-folk with a sophisti-pop suaveness.

Now based in Bologna, Italy after previously living in Cambridge and London, Fisher created “Love Come Back” in his home studio. “With his soulful harmonies, I am so happy Colin joined in and brought some true Philadelphia spirit to the party,” Fisher says of the guest vocalist’s addition. “Love Come Back” hits all the sweet spots in regard to atmosphere and melodic drive, resulting in a definitive success from Benny Fisher.

“My studio set-up has its pros and cons, but I think having limitations has generally been a good thing and helped me find a sound,” Fisher explains. The result certainly shows as much, with a compelling sound touting considerable depth within an enjoyably dreamy intrigue.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
