Cadenti – “One Of These Days”

/

A spirited synth-led pop enamoring shows on “One Of These Days,” a punchy and riveting single from Cadenti. The Derby, UK-based artist describes the effort as a “love song about my first love,” — meshing smitten lyrical adoration with radiant synth rises alongside steady rhythmic pulses. The culminating “one of these days,” vocal amidst peppy synths resembles a more electronic-minded The Killers in its infusion of ’80s nostalgia with sleeker modern pop/rock.

Cadenti represents the solo project of Chris Paul Martin, reputed for his involvement in the group W O L F C L U B. Martin’s melodic songwriting and synth incorporations enamor throughout. The title-referencing refrain escalates with feverish intent, as vocals admit to “thinking about you,” as illuminated synths and pulsing percussion combine for a replay-inducing effect. “One of these days we’ll run through the rain, shake off your hair, and we’ll do it again,” the lyrics let out, capturing the essence of carefree, spirited living with the object of one’s affection.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
