Michael Todd and Kiara Day – “See You in My Dreams”

//

The duo of Michael Todd and Kiara Day strut a timeless-sounding pop appeal on new single “See You in My Dreams.” Day’s serenely introspective vocals are complemented by bouncy piano and a warming bass line, crafting a ’70s pop sensibility. “It’s not real, but it feels real to me,” the vocals admit, striving to “keep the dream alive,” amidst a hopeful sense of contentment.

Yearning to “see you,” sends chills alongside acoustic strums, traversing enjoyably into the title-touting sequence. A smitten sense of adoring persists in the lyrics, set against a gorgeous assembly of dreamy acoustics and steady piano pulses. The duo began making music in 2011, when freshmen in high school, and continue to churn out quality songwriting like “See You in My Dreams.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
