Twin Pine – “Run Away”

/

“Run Away” is a textured melding of electronic and folk components, marking a thorough success from Twin Pine. The Swansea, Wales-based duo release “Run Away” as the second single from their forthcoming debut EP. The project, comprising vocalist Sam Gardner and guitarist/bassist Owen Weston, present a grippingly climactic unveiling of atmosphere and lushly melodic vocal appeal throughout.

Gentle keys pulses and vocals assemble, remarking “surrounded by these ghosts,” as flickering synths add a nocturnal atmospheric spirit. “Sun shines through my window at night, my eyes go blind from all the silence,” the vocals further. “I’m gonna run away,” they declare, signaling the emergence of drip-dropping percussive elements, melding beautifully with the tactfully escalating piano warmness. A string-laden eeriness takes hold upon the next “run away,” proclamation, adding a strikingly emotive character into delicately melancholic pitch-altered vocals. “Run Away” is an affecting, atmospheric success from Twin Pine.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
