Alex Couch – “Bye bye”

/

A breezily melodic charm stirs on “Bye bye,” a new single from Alex Couch, an artist based in Sonoma County, California. The twangy guitars, mellow vocal hypnotics, and hazy soundscape leads a memorable production, taking inspiration from ’00s alt-rock/pop. “I was better than you,” the vocals ruminate as guitar distortion intensifies, falling lushly back into the “fine and content,” lyrical reassurances. The title-touting repetition renders an infectious impact, particularly as tender guitar affections linger beautifully past the two-minute turn. “Bye bye” is a wholly pleasant success from Alex Couch.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
