Alfie Hudson Taylor – “Being In Love”

//

The new single from Dublin-based artist Alfie Hudson Taylor, “Being In Love” struts a gorgeous folk sound with expansive orchestral flourishes. A personal, reflective lyrical prowess compels — with stirrings of youth via specific moments, like mind-expanding consumption and getting a tattoo, meshing with larger statements on the pursuit for a fulfilling life. “There’s nothing as sweet as being in love with you,” the vocals decisively repeat to close out the track, full of endearment and melodic charms from Alfie Hudson Taylor.

Also known as one-half of the popular duo Hudson Taylor, the artist now embarks on a solo career with this stellar debut single. “I wrote ‘Being in Love’ about my partner Gabrielle,” Taylor explains. “It’s an attempt to describe the feeling of being in love.” The production — which was recorded in Somerset, UK — tugs at the heart with its sincere, melodic affections. We’re excited to hear what’s next from the artist’s solo output.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
