bikethrasher – “Hillside”

/

Boston-based band bikethrasher revel in a range of gripping rock nostalgia on “Hillside,” which infuses shades of ’90s alt-rock and mid-’00s punk within the band’s compelling songwriting — which on “Hillside” ventures from angst-y nonchalance into a fervently captivating swell of thunderous rock. A hazy initial composure reminds of Pavement, with the whirring “move away,” descension kickstarting an enthralling journey, venturing into the second half’s array of warming distortion and ardent vocal passion. “Hillside” is a thrilling rock throwback from bikethrasher.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
