“The Darkest Timeline” is a memorably yearning rock track from Goodnight House, the project of Portland, OR-based singer/songwriter Joel Lane. Thumping guitars traverse into a warming array of distortion, with gently melodic vocals maintaining an enjoyably dazed pace into the “now I’m longing for that longing feeling,” soaring. Shades of The Wrens show in the fragmented guitar trickles, while the comforting vocal lead exudes a lusher rock pace. “The Darkest Timeline” is a heartfelt, successful showing from Goodnight House.
