Oscilla – “Tongue-Tied”

//

A warming, summer-set glow complements the introspective folk appeal of “Tongue-Tied,” a new single from Oscilla, the duo of singer/songwriter Frances England and producer Omar Akrouche. Lush acoustics complement illuminated piano, recorded with a handheld cassette player and in turn furthering a sense of nostalgia. Lyrical visions of summer, cherry juice, and rolling the windows down enamor into the piano’s re-incorporation, as the acoustics maintain a consistently gliding quality throughout.

“As the leaves reach for the sun,” the vocals continue, maintaining a nature-friendly sense of imagery that resonates alongside the calming folk arsenal. A comforting, hypnotic success, “Tongue-Tied” is a memorable showing from Oscilla, impressing previously with the track “Tornado.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
