Bomethius – “Aida”

/

Chicago-based artist Bomethius presents a stirring sound on “Aida,” casting a heartfelt folk and rock appeal within an emotional thematic emphasis. The track is described as “about domestic abuse, and the sorts of relationships that keep women from knowing and being who they actually are.”

String-laden chills and gentle acoustical strums complement a developing vocal sincerity, exploring the plight of being caught in an abusive relationship, which suffocates one’s light and zeal for life. “Aida you’re dying, but you don’t know,” the vocals open, capturing this sense of suffocation. “Aida” is a moving success from Bomethius, which represents the work of multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Jonathan Hodges.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
