Covo – “Streets Feel Strange”

/

A serenely emotive pop production stirs on “Streets Feel Strange,” a single out today from San Antonio-based artist Covo. Melancholic guitar tones and a late-night, synth-touched soundscape enamor alongside a brooding vocal lead, ranging from wordless yearning to brisker pop-punk ardency. “I don’t feel home anymore,” they let out to start, conveying a sense of isolation and searching for connection.

The thematic quest to “find my home,” ventures gorgeously into the mid-point, with chirpy synth characters and lush guitar lines melding together with hypnotic engrossment. The production is riveting throughout, complemented by heartfelt themes of alienation within an ever-changing landscape, as brighter memories fade within a world dominated by capitalistic hunger and domination. The self-described “emotronica” genre is conveyed beautifully in the production, ending with beautiful piano adornments. “Streets Feel Strange” is a thorough success from Covo.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
