The Macarons Project – “Fade”

/

An affecting folk sound compels on “Fade,” a new single from The Macarons Project, a Canada-based Indonesian duo. Ree’s lush vocals and Dito’s gentle guitar tones enamor on “Fade,” which is preceding their upcoming debut album, reverie. The brother-sister duo have us anticipating that release with this memorable release, described as exploring “the complexities of relationships.” More specifically, the track encounters “the challenges faced by a couple drifting apart, while expressing a deep longing to revive their connection.”

“It’s you, you’re my perfect one,” the vocals let out with heartrending impact during the dreamy refrain. “It’s you, you were right here from the start.” The lyrics feel like a reminder of a couple’s love, which can be vital during times of strife and questioning. Serene touches of piano add warmly to the consuming vocals and calming guitars, comprising an enthralling arsenal throughout “Fade.”

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
