The Soods – “Slip On Down”

A resonating rock character lingers on “Slip On Down,” a new single from The Soods, a project based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They’re prepping their upcoming self-titled album for release on May 3rd, and “Slip On Down” represents its lead single. “Slip on down, come to me, let me feel you listening,” the inviting vocals open alongside warming guitar lines. “Join me and we’ll be alone,” they further a sense of unity. The central hook emits a soaring, psych-friendly immersion, reminding “don’t forget to get high,” with shades of Dr. Dog, aesthetically. “Slip On Down” has us firmly anticipating The Soods’ upcoming self-titled EP.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
