Tyler Meacham – “dream house”

/

A heartfelt folk enamoring takes hold on “dream house,” a new single from Tyler Meacham, an artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Depictions of a dream home — with a garden, and a great kitchen — align with aspirations to “lock myself away with you,” lamenting “if only dreams came true,” as mellow piano infusions adorn the ruminating acoustics and backyard-set chirping. The track compels in its balancing of introspective folk and dreamy pop developments.

“All I want is to spend another night with you,” the vocals continue to yearn, launching into a gorgeous assembly of layered vocal lushness as the final minute approaches. These serenely melodic vocal rises complement lyrics that artfully depict how some dreams are not fully realized until they’re gone. The artist elaborates: “We keep these big little dreams tucked away somewhere out of mind until we either find ourselves in them or find ourselves without them.” Consuming throughout, “dream house” is an affecting folk success from Tyler Meacham.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
