Anthemic pop and rock intertwining take hold on “Trapped in a Maze,” a blast of a track from Make Believe Love. The Los Angeles-based project of multi-instrumentalist Lucas Berman collaborates here with producer/multi-instrumentalist Louie Diller (HOLYCHILD) and guitarist Sam Stewart (Lo Moon, Olivia Rodrigo). The result proves thoroughly compelling — especially in the multi-layered vocals and whirring guitar distortion apparent in the title-referencing hook. The more sporadic, pulsating verses build with palpable momentum to this exhilarating chorus, easily inducing replays.
