The Madelines – “Take Your Medicine”

/

The second single from Brooklyn-based rockers The Madelines, “Take Your Medicine” is described as “about how the complexity of past relationships can influence the present, and the toll it can take on a blossoming relationship.” Panting percussion and steady vocal charisma build with a climactic vigor, with the lyrics referring to a complex sense of jealousy, arising when someone you’re in love with is still clinging onto a past relationship. The elongated vocal evolves into a ferocious emotiveness in the central hook, inducing replays with its cohesive build and satiating rock sound.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
