GoodKids – “Your World”

/

“Your World” compels in its twangy guitar tones and harmonious vocal layers, representing the final of several re-releases from GoodKids as they prepare to release new material. Featuring Daniel Lavezzo on slide guitar and Alex Bloom on background vocals, the track is described as “an exploration of the beloved.” Calming acoustics and gentle piano build into an introspective vocal presence — “when I could hear you, you could not see me,” — into warming, psych-friendly melding of guitar and piano. “Your World” is an enjoyable throwback, originally released in 2015, and has us anticipating what’s on the horizon from the Los Angeles-formed act.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
