Alysia Josephine – “Mention Me”

/

Swelling beautifully from lush introspection into rousing rock heights, “Mention Me” is a riveting new track from Alysia Josephine, the solo project of Nashville-based artist Alysia Macias. “Don’t be afraid to show me,” serene vocals let out amidst slight guitar strums and sporadic, textured twangs. An ascending vocal emotion — “you don’t mention me…” — builds with enveloping momentum, developing into an impassioned vocal spirit and expanded rock vigor by mid-point. The three-minute turn is especially gripping in its doses of guitar distortion. “Mention Me” is a thorough success in its dynamic tonal traversal and sincerely emotive prowess.

“I wrote this song a year ago and it has inspired everything I have written since then,” Alysia Josephine says. “This is my second release and sort of the first one that really involves the band as a whole. I feel like this song was honest and also recorded honestly. We tried to focus on keeping it sounding clean while also not getting it to sound overproduced.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
